Our Team
We’re led by a dedicated group of staff and volunteers who share one mission: ensuring everyone in Centre Wellington has enough food.
Volunteers
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Centre Wellington Food Bank — the friendly faces who make everything we do possible. From greeting clients at the front desk to guiding them through the shopping area, preparing meals in our kitchen, loading the van for community pickups, or organizing food drives throughout the year, their dedication fuels every part of our work.
Each week, our volunteers give countless hours to ensure families receive nutritious food and caring support that extends far beyond groceries. They bring compassion, understanding, and stability — offering a familiar face and a kind word when life feels overwhelming. Spend just a few minutes at our welcome desk or in the grocery aisles, and you’ll see that the conversations aren’t only about food; they’re about birthdays, new jobs, tough days, and small victories.
Their unwavering commitment builds more than food security — it builds connection, dignity, and hope. Our volunteers truly embody what community means, and their spirit continues to inspire everyone who walks through our doors.
Executive Director and Manager
My name is Curt McQueen and I’m the Executive Director and Manager at the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
I began this role in January 2023 after working in the Upper Grand District School Board for 25 years. I live in Fergus with my wife Cara and two children Eden and Elijah (when they are not at university).
With my job at the Food Bank, I have remained steadfast in my approach, incorporating the key themes that guided me everyday as a school principal:
Service leadership
Lead by example
Establish a welcoming environment
Have an open mind free of judgement
Be there
I am blessed with an amazing team of volunteers who are the heart, soul, and backbone of the Centre Wellington Food Bank. This hard working and compassionate group is dedicated to not only the day to day operations but truly to the wellbeing of our clients.
Beyond the interior of the Food Bank, we have a community that is tireless in their generous support of us and our programs. We are forever appreciative!
Whether you are in need of food, want to donate or run an event, or want to help, we want to hear from you. Give us a call or an email and we will ensure to connect and make a plan.
Leadership and Governance
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors serves as the organization's governing body. These dedicated volunteers work alongside the Executive Director to set direction, oversee financial and programmatic performance, and safeguard the integrity of our work. Their commitment helps ensure we deliver on our promise and uphold the trust of our community.
Transparency. Accountability. Vision.

We can’t do this alone
Thank you to our partners for their dedication, generosity, and belief that when we work together, everyone is better off.
Food insecurity is rarely caused by a single factor—it's the result of complex and interconnected challenges. At the Centre Wellington Food Bank, we believe the path forward lies in Collective Impact—a collaborative approach to addressing complex social issues by working alongside organizations that contribute unique expertise, resources, and strengths in a coordinated effort. We are proud to partner with or be a member of various organizations at the local, provincial, and federal level. These partnerships and memberships help us better support current clients and extend our reach to those who need our services most.
