Frequently Asked Questions
How long does volunteering take?
Flexible — we have half-day, full-day or event-based roles.
Can I donate food items any time?
Yes — we have drop-off hours for goods and high-need items change regularly.
Does my business get recognition?
Yes — we’re happy to acknowledge partner contributions (logo on website, newsletter, event signage) if desired.
I don’t know how to host a drive.
We’ll provide guidance, sample materials and support to make it easy.
What happens to funds I donate?
We use monetary donations to purchase fresh supply, fund our warehouse and logistics, and keep client-choice shopping operating — maximizing value and flexibility.
Can I get a charitable tax receipt for my donation?
Yes! The Centre Wellington Food Bank is a registered charity. Tax receipts are automatically issued for all online financial donations, and available upon request for eligible in-person donations.
Do you accept fresh food or garden produce?
Yes, absolutely! We welcome donations of fresh produce from local gardens and farms. It’s a wonderful way to share the harvest and help us provide healthy options for our clients.
Can I donate other items, like toiletries or baby supplies?
Yes — personal care items, cleaning products, diapers, and baby formula are all appreciated when available. These essentials are often overlooked but make a huge difference for families.
Can I donate online or set up monthly giving?
Yes — online giving is quick, secure, and allows you to choose one-time or monthly donations. Monthly gifts help us plan ahead and provide consistent support throughout the year.
